We started out early to take advantage of the cool air and went about 12km in a couple hours-that's fast for me. We had met Raquel and Dixie last night, so they came along with us. It is their first Camino.
We noticed that there are A LOT of people for this time of year. WAY more than last year. Unfortunately, it's not a good thing. It seems as if it's a race instead of everyone taking time to enjoy the day. It was a good thing that Esteban had reserved a place for us to sleep. He even tried to reserve for the next day, but they wouldn't do it.
Castilla is quite flat, but we had a few hills. I felt ok until the last couple hours. Surprisingly my knees were fine! It was my feet that were killing me. After a shower and a siesta, all was well again.
We met Alfredo from Sevilla and Andrea from South Africa, and our little family started to form. Good thing too, since most of the other people were closed and at times, even unfriendly. This is not the Camino that we know!

Empezamos temprano para aprovechar del aire fresco y anduvimos 12km en un par de horas-rápido para mi. Habíamos conocido a Raquel y a Dixie anoche, así que nos acompañaron. Es su primer Camino.
Nos fijamos en que hay MUCHA por estas fechas. MUCHA mas que el año pasado. Desgraciadamente, esto no es bueno. Parece que es un recorrido en vez de disfrutar del día. Menos mal que Esteban había reservado el próximo albergue. Intento reservar para el día siguiente, pero no lo harían.
La mayoría de Castilla es plana, pero había algunas cuestas no muy fuertes. Me sentía bien hasta las ultimas dos horas. Sorprendentemente, no me dolían las rodillas! Eran los pies que me estaban matando! Después de una ducha y una siesta, todo estaba bien.
Conocimos a Alfredo de Sevilla y Andrea de Sudáfrica y nuestra familia empezó a formarse. Menos mal porque la mayoría de la otra gente estaba cerrada y a veces, no muy amables.
Esto no es el Camino que conocemos! :-(
Ya veremos lo que venga mañana...
