Grañón - Tosantos 26Sept2011 22km/13miles

Oh, my head!  After the orujo last night, it was not easy getting up at 6am.  However, I slept surprisingly well on the yoga mats!  We left La Rioja and entered Castilla y León at sunrise.  It was spectacular!  When we got to Belorado, there was a little market and of course all the women were tempted to go shopping, but there was no way we were going to carry anything more.  Esteban had left his car there, so he took JuanMa, whose foot was really sore, the 5km to Tosantos.  The albergue was a small adobe building with exposed wooden beams and low ceilings - super cute!  This time we had mattresses on the floor.  Luckily the six of us got a room, because a lot of the Koreans had to sleep in the hallways!  The Koreans are amazing.  They cover up from head to toe when they walk, as they don´t want to darken their skin.  Most even wear gloves!  We all said we couldn´t stand the heat of so many layers.  They started giving massages out in the yard and soon Andrea and JuanMa were in their hands too!  We visited a little church up on a hill above the town.  I was nominated as translator, since the caretaker didn´t speak English.  I´m not comfortable in that kind of role and I´m not religious, so it was a weird feeling for me.  Afterwards, we had a comunal dinner at the albuergue - 5 kilos of lentils!!!!  They were delicious!  One of my favorite foods!  Iñaki, Tonya, a German couple, a French guy, and I did all the dishes.  What a team!  We were so fast!  We had to say goodbye to Esteban then, since he had to work the next day :-(   What a great guy!  Ah, our Camino family!  How I miss all of them:  Scott, Willem, Jacques, Lía, Matthieu, Evaristo, Machine, and now Esteban.
